LIAT will continue working with the authorities to normalize the schedule.
Due to the cargo hold capacity limitations of the Dash 8 and ATR aircraft currently operated by LIAT, it is necessary that LIAT restricts the amount of baggage carried by its passengers. This will help us offer a more consistent and reliable baggage delivery service to passengers adhering to the baggage limitations.
The free baggage allowance for all LIAT services must be one piece at a maximum of 50 lbs (23 kgs.) per adult or child passenger. Infants ticketed as part of an adult’s itinerary do not qualify for this free baggage allowance. If they are ticketed and a seat is reserved for them, then they are entitled to the free baggage allowance of 50lbs(23kgs) per person. The maximum overall size per piece will be 62 inches (157 cms).
In addition passengers will be allowed one piece of cabin baggage at a maximum weight of 15 lbs.(7 kgs.) and maximum overall dimensions of 21 inches x 14 inches x 8 inches (53 x 35 x 20 cms). These dimensions include wheels, all pockets and handles.
Any passenger travelling with more hand luggage may have this removed at the departure gate and will be charged for the carriage of the same.
If there is no space in the hold of the flight you are booked on, the luggage may be carried on a later flight.
Traveling on the LIAT network is considered International travel. All customers are required to present proof of identity such as a valid government issued photo ID and proof of citizenship such as a passport at the LIAT check-in counter.
Passengers must keep proper documentation on their person during travel. It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that they have in their possession the correct documents needed for travel to any destination. Passengers must also be in possession of a copy of their itinerary as proof of their onward or return journey.
