Interjet, a leading international airline based in Mexico, announced it would be adding new service as well as additional flights to the 35 cities it already flies to in Mexico. These 20 or more flights will be added through the remainder of 2018. The announcement was made at the annual global tourism convention, Tianguis Turístico, held this year in Mazatlán, Mexico's colonial city on the beach.

"We are very excited about bringing our unique brand of service and competitive pricing to more business and leisure travelers," said Julio Gamero, Interjet's Chief Commercial Officer. "With free checked bags on select fares, all-leather seats with business-class legroom, free drinks, snacks and beverages along with our great service that has been embraced everywhere we fly, it's easy to see why Interjet is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world," he added.

Interjet also announced it transported 2,356,979 domestic passengers in the first quarter of 2018, an increase of 9% year-over-year while international traffic surged more than 38% for the same period.

Tianguis Turístico, is an annual global travel and tourism event attended by everyone from top executives in the airline, cruise line and hotel industries to leading tour operators, entrepreneurs, media, press, and travel bloggers from over 80 countries.
