Chevron selling 174 Caribbean and Central American Texaco stations
San Francisco Business Times - by Steven E.F. Brown
Date: Thursday, November 18, 2010

Chevron Corp. agreed to sell 174 Texaco gas stations in the Caribbean and Central America.

The buyer is Vitogaz S.A., a unit of French petroleum company Rubis.

The deal, which includes an equity interest in a refinery as well as some aviation and industrial fuels assets, should close by the third quarter of 2011. The sale needs the blessing of local governments and regulators.

Gas stations and other assets are being sold in these places: Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Guyana, St. Kitts, French Guiana, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Trinidad, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Belize.

San Ramon-based Chevron (NYSE: CVX) didn’t give a price in this sale.

Rubis, based in Paris, bought a liquefied petroleum gas distribution unit from BP plc (NYSE: BP) in Spain this week.
