Fly Montserrat Resumes Flights
October 31, 2012

Fly Montserrat resume flights on Wednesday October 31st, 2012.

The airline has been cleared to resume operations in territories overseen by the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority, ECCAA.

Fly Montserrat was banned from flying to ECCA countries after one of its aircraft crashed in Antigua on October 7th and another of its planes rolled off the runaway on landing at John Osborne Airport nine days later.

In a letter to Fly Montserrat on Tuesday, ECCAA notified Managing Director Nigel Harris that all the relevant authorities in the OECS have been informed that the suspension has been lifted.

Fly Montserrat says the lifting of the suspension follows an in-depth audit of the airline, carried out by Air Support International ASSI.

The press release states that FlyMontserrat had a clean audit in August 2012 and again following the latest four-day audit of both maintenance and operations.

The airline says the UK Regulator reported that no significant safety concerns have been identified.

Fly Montserrat says it wishes to reassure its customers that safety has always been its number one priority.

It also says it has received hundreds of messages of support that have come from customers who recognise the strengths of the Company.

Fly Montserrat says it will be operating its normal schedule again from today.
