Fly Montserrat, a carrier serving Antigua and Nevis from Montserrat, has been grounded by the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority following a second accident within 10 days.

The carrier crashed during takeoff at Antigua's V. C. Bird Airport on Oct. 7, killing the pilot and two passengers.

On Oct. 16, a twin-engine Britten-Norman Islander plane skidded off the runway at John Osborne Airport in Montserrat, stopping just short of a cliff.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines Airline (SVG Air) plans to increase the number of its flights to Montserrat. Other regional carriers are expected to add service, as well.

Another option for travelers coming from Antigua is ferry service. The crossing takes two hours each way.
