Eagle Aviation Will Break Ground on Largest Aviation Facility in the Caribbean

Eagle Aviation will break ground May 28 on what it said will be the largest and most modern aviation facility in the Caribbean, the company announced Wednesday.

The ceremony will take place at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport. Eagle Aviation CEO Trond Osthaug will host the ceremony that will include community, business leaders from the area and guest speakers including a spokesmen from MASA Assist.

The company's news release said it will announce the immediate availability of some services and will present a plan of scheduled services as the facility continues through construction.

The company said it will offer volume fuel sales pricing to all carriers, operators and customers as well as aircraft hangaring, servicing and maintenance.

The company's planned 35,000-square-foot facility at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport will include 25,000 square feet of hangar space and 10,000 square feet of office space. Office space will offer a medical ready-room for stabilization of patients during air ambulance operations, a conference room, and training room facilities.

Eagle Aviation LLC, in partnership with Medical Air Services Association (MASA,) will announce availability of increased air ambulance services sporting modern equipment and the fastest aircraft in the Caribbean, the company said.

As a fixed-base operator at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport, Eagle Aviation LLC will serve general and commercial aviation. Other services to be offered will include inside storage of aircraft, refueling services and fuel sales, aircraft ground handling, on demand air charters, air ambulance operations, aircraft maintenance services and an international flight school. Cooperative educational agreements will be sought with the Department of Education and the University of the Virgin Islands for aviation- related curriculum and training, such as flight training, aircraft maintenance repair and aircraft avionics technicians, as well as providing apprenticeships in aviation flight, maintenance and flight nursing.

Eagle Aviation and MASA aircraft include two Bombardier LearJet 55 jet aircraft, a Beechcraft Super King Air and a Piper Navajo Panther. Charter and air ambulance service coverage area includes regions of the United States from Texas to the East Coast, from the New England area south to the Gulf of Mexico; Central America; portions of South America and all of the Caribbean.

MASA Assist is an international organization that provides its more than 1 million members with lifesaving, emergency assistance services while they are at home, on the job, or traveling around the world. MASA Assist is headed by CEO Frank Halley.
