Friday, November 29th, 2013.

ST JOHN’S, Antigua

The newest Caribbean airline formed has revealed more details of its plans. CIT (Caribbean Island Transport) Airways said it plans to begin flights in January with one Boeing 737-300.

The 90-passenger aircraft will be used for direct flights between Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Dominica.

In a press release, CIT Airways added that three smaller planes will be pressed into service in early 2014.

They are Embraer ERJ-135LR, the Embraer ERJ-170-100LR and Embraer ERJ-190LR – a 37-seater, a 76-seater and a 100-seater, respectively, which will fly between the Caribbean islands.

The airline hasn’t disclosed the intended regional flights, but has hinted before that Antigua would be one of the main destinations.

CIT Airways’ Operating Manager is Dominican national Blairr Webb, along with Vice-Operating Manager Jeffrey S Wade and Partner and Sales Development Director Arne Tommy Rotne.

The release said the airline is partnering with the South Florida Air Charter of Miami to handle all ground flight operations and AeromodalSM to handle all in-flight operations and training. CIT Airways was registered in Florida on November 8, 2013.
