In this week’s “Money and Business” report, a pending hotel sale first mentioned on Cayman 27 a month ago has now been made public. And Cayman’s newest airline moves closer to its first take-off.

The Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort has been sold by Florida-based Gencom and Private Equity Group to an affiliate of London & Regional, an investor group with ownership that includes the Four Seasons in Dublin, two hotels in Monte Carlo and the Fairmont in Barbados. The price was undisclosed and the resort will continue to operate as a Marriott.

Meanwhile, BlueSky Airlines commercial officer Mark Ellinger reports a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with a North American lessor to provide two Q-400 aircraft for delivery in late 2016. BlueSky hopes to announce a launch date and initial destinations in early 2016.
