Air Europa to double flights to the Dominican Republic

MADRID

President Danilo Medina and the president of the Globalia Group, Juan Jose Hidalgo, agreed yesterday that Air Europa will double its connections with the different airports in the Dominican Republic starting in April, when Iberia will cease service to the country.

It was reported that the agreement came about after a telephone call from Medina to Juan Jose Hidalgo, asking that the airline company of the Globalia Group to guarantee connection of the island to Madrid and the flow of Spanish tourists to the Dominican Republic. Hidalgo committed the company to additional flights will be uploaded into their system tomorrow.

Starting on 1 April, Air Europa will fly 14 times a week to Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo from Barajas Airport in Madrid. Departures will be at noon and at night.

The same way, the European airline reported that the tourist area of Punta Cana will be connected with Madrid by 7 flights a week, and in the high season there will be special flights to Puerto Plata in the north of the country.
