Silver Airways resumes flights to Nassau, Bahamas

Silver Airways’ 34-seat Saab aircraft. The Fort-Lauderdale based airline announced Friday it is resuming non-stop service to Nassau.

Regional airline Silver Airways is heading back to Nassau, Bahamas.

The carrier will be operating four weekly flights from Palm Beach International Airport to Nassau and three weekly flights from Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers to the Bahamian capital. It will also offer daily nonstop service from Tampa.

Silver Airways also flies from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to several other locations in the Bahamas: Bimini, Freeport, Marsh Harbour, North Eleuthra and Treasure City.

The airline, which flies to several other locations in the Caribbean island, started flying to Nassau in 1993 but ceased flights in 2011.

One-way flights from Palm Beach or Fort Myers to Nassau will be $79 through Feb. 29 for travel between June 1 and June 29.

Apart from the Nassau service, the airline will also resume seasonal service to Eleuthera and George Town in the Bahamas with flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Silver Airways operates more than 100 daily flights to 26 destinations in Florida, the Bahamas and the Mid-Atlantic region.
