[Jamaica] Legal action to be taken against Air Traffic Controllers
23 August, 2015

The government has indicated that it intends to take court action against Air Traffic Controllers who have defied an order by the Industrial Disputes Tribunal (IDT) to resume working.

Their action has resulted in Jamaica’s airspace being closed and a number of flights being cancelled.

The controllers took sick out action since Wednesday as they claimed their concerns about wages and benefits were not being adequately addressed.

The Ministry Of Labour has asked the Attorney General to intervene and it is expected that an injunction will be acquired from the High Court to force the controllers back on the job.
