MONTREAL, Sept. 14, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)

Adacel announced today that the Company has been selected to supply air traffic control (ATC) training systems to Princess Juliana International Airport in St. Maarten. Under terms of the contract Adacel will supply and install a MaxSim Tower ATC simulator and two of Adacel's Intelligent Communications Environment (ICE) training systems.

The Adacel MaxSim Tower simulator will have a 9-channel, vertical LCD display system with a 270-degree lateral field-of-view. The state-of-the-art simulator will enable training in all facets of aerodrome control. The two ICE stations are independent systems that are primarily used to assist in aviation phraseology proficiency and communications procedures. The Adacel systems will be integrated into the St Maarten Civil Aviation Authority's ATC training program and will allow the region's air traffic controllers to have access to tools that will promote the development of the essential skills to perform in accordance with the highest international standards. Adacel has previously delivered similar MaxSim Tower simulators within the Caribbean region to Curacao and Trinidad.

Adacel's ATC simulation systems have proven to be very effective in developing higher proficiency and accelerating the learning process of controllers during their course of study and ongoing training. The simulators are designed to provide ATC students with realistic hands-on practice that reinforces learning, from the basics of phraseology and communications through the advanced skills required to be a competent controller.
