On 4 March, Dominica will be only 20 minutes from Martinique by airline Airawak. So far, the airline only operated charter flights throughout the Caribbean: Puerto Rico, St. Martin, Marie-Galante and Barbados, not to mention the Grenadines. Today, as part of its development Airawak, from March 4, will provide scheduled flight connections to St. Lucia and Dominica ... Françoise Guinot, manager and captain on Airawak says: "So far no airline operated direct flights to Dominica ... Prior to our initiative, you would take a day to arrive in Dominica, in other words through St. Lucia, Barbados ... Now Airawak offers a 20 minutes flight to Canefield ... .

"What ignited the desire to operate in Dominica, is the demand of families and tourists to these destinations, who do not necessarily want to go by boat because of the turmoil and the duration of the crossing "says Francoise Guinot. And say: "The idea is to open new routes to Dominica, to enable customers to spend at least a weekend or more ... We are negotiating with local travel agencies to offer packages. The company plans to make 4 trips per week, to Dominica ... (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday).

Airawak has a fleet consisting of a 7-seater aircraft (Cessna 402) and two BN2 of 9 seats. The company announced a tariff of 225 euros for Dominica, 239 euros to St. Lucia (Hewanorra), and 186 euros for St. Lucia (Castries).
