THA Statement

Another international carrier has added Tobago to its route. Effective November 2016, Thomas Cook Airlines will be flying to this island. At the World Travel Market in Excel, London earlier today, Secretary of Tourism and Transportation Tracy Davidson-Celestine announced that the airline has adopted the Manchester, England to Tobago route. Virgin Atlantic and British Airways are the other two UK airlines travelling to Destination Tobago.

The direct service, with close to 20 rotations, will add 12,820 seats from international destinations to the island during the 2016-2017 winter season.

The Secretary is “very excited” about the partnership with the airline. “The northern England, London and Scotland markets have always expressed high interest in destination Tobago and our new service will allow us to tap into this market. This will translate very well for our tourism product,” Davidson-Celestine said. She added that the expected increase of visitor arrivals is timely, and coincides with the expansion of the island's room-stock.

The Manta Lodge and Sanctuary Resorts is currently being upgraded to add 78 upscale rooms to the island's complement.
