Guadeloupe's Air Antilles adds maiden ATR72-600

Air Antilles (3S, Pointe à Pitre) has taken delivery of its first of two ATR72-600s on order from Avions de Transport Régional (Toulouse Blagnac). The Guadeloupe-based Caribbean carrier confirmed the arrival of F-OMYM (msn 1374) in country on Saturday, January 28.

The second of the type will be delivered later this year.

As it stands, Air Antilles plans to deploy F-OMYM (msn 1374) into commercial service on February 2. It will be used to boost frequencies on the carrier's existing route network as well as opening several new ones including Pointe à Pitre and Fort de France, Martinique, to Bridgetown, Antigua and Beef Island.

Air Antilles currently operates three ATR42-500s, one ATR42-600, and two DHC-6-300s on scheduled passenger flights to Barbados, Dominica, Puerto Rico, Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Lucia, the Dominican Republic, St. Maarten, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthelemy.
