[Jamaica Air Shuttle] Extra flights for festival
26 January, 2012

The public is being advised that Jamaica Air Shuttle will operate extra flights this weekend between Kingston and Montego Bay to accommodate the very heavy demand from persons attending the 2012 Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival at the Trelawney Multi-purpose Stadium.

In a release sent to THE STAR yesterday, it was revealed that, Deryck Dwyer, the airline's marketing manager, said that demand for travel by air to the festival was heavier than usual this year, perhaps, because of the line up of world renowned local and international artistes scheduled to perform at the event.

Extra flights are scheduled for Friday and Sunday, the peak days for travel to and from Montego Bay.

strong demand

Dwyer confirmed that demand was not only strong in Kingston, but that many Jazz and Blues enthusiasts from Haiti were arriving this week on Jamaica Air Shuttle.

He said that Jamaica Air Shuttle recognise the Jazz and Blues Festival as a premier cultural and entertainment event on the Jamaican calendar; and as such, the airline is very pleased to play its part in transporting the Jazz and Blues enthusiasts.
