Sky Bahamas puts only Beech 1900D up for sale
08.11.2019

Sky Bahamas (SBM, Nassau Int'l) has put its only Beech 1900D, C6-SBF (msn UE-002), for sale. The 1991 vintage turboprop, which is being marketed by SkyQuest International, LLC for an undisclosed price, has accumulated 33,938 flight hours and 53,524 flight cycles through now.

Sky Bahamas, which also operated two Saab 340As and one Saab 340B, suspended all flights on July 8, pending the renewal of its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) by the Bahamas Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA).

In early August, the company was evicted from its location at Nassau Int'l and, on August 17, it also found itself locked out of its office in the city of Nassau by landlord AOG Maintenance Company Ltd. It is also fighting lawsuits demanding pay from employees. Chief Executive Randy Butler told local media that the suspension cost the firm over USD4.2 million through October 1. He said that he will continue to fight the BCAA in the hopes of restarting operations.

All four aircraft operated by the carrier are currently stored at various airports in the Bahamas. The Beech 1900D is the only owned aircraft, while the Saab turboprops are leased.
