Antiguan Killed In Plane Crash
12 March 2011
Antigua, St John's - Federal investigators are probing the cause of a plane crash on Tuesday in Atlanta that claimed the lives of two men, including an Antiguan, Oriel Roberts.

Roberts, 48, originally from Gray's Farm, lived in Hampton, Atlanta. He was a chief inspector at National Aerotech, run by longtime friend Kevin Williams.

So far, there has been no indication of what took down the plane, which was piloted by 37-year-old Bryan Hedrick.

Federal investigators say it could take months for an official report to be produced.

The twin-engine Dehavilland DHC-6-100 seemingly took a nose dive into a tree near the runway at Tara Field.

Those who worked with Roberts in the aviation field praised his abilities and said he would be greatly missed.
