Businessman found hanging in his home
September 29, 2015

Prominent Pilot and businessman Auyobe Mazaharally who was also connected to Air Services Limited was Tuesday morning found hanging from a beam below an interior step of his Lot 166 Granville Park, Beterverwagting East Coast Demerara home around 08.30hrs.

The body of the forty-six year old man was discovered by ranks from the Beterverwagting Police Station who responded to a report from neighbours who said they had not seen him for several days.

When the police arrived at the home of the man they found that the lower entrance to the house was locked but a veranda door was opened. A male police rank climbed to the veranda and entered the home where he opened the door to allow other ranks to make their way inside.

This was after several calls to the man’s cell phone as well as to his landline number went unanswered.

When the ranks got inside the house they made the shocking discovery of the man who was found hanging below the stairs, clad only in his underwear.

The police told the Guyana News Network (GNN) that they were awaiting the arrival of the man’s family from in the interior to identify his remains and to also provide statements in the matter.

Mazaharally’s body is presently at the Lyken Funeral Parlor awaiting a post mortem, which is schedule to perform on Wednesday by a government pathologist.

When contacted earlier on Tuesday, another police source confirmed that they are treating the death as a possible suicide since the home did not appear to be ransacked nor was anything seemingly missing. The investigations are however still ongoing.

Mazaharally is popular in the aviation industry and served as a pilot with the Air Services Limited which is owned by a very close relative of his.

The house that Auyube Mazahar Ally recently bought and in which he was found dead
AYUBE Mazahar Ally, 46, was yesterday morning found hanging by a bag strap from the stairs of his Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara home. The father of two had recently moved into the Lot 166 Granville Park house in which his bloated remains was found, and was reportedly in the final stages of paying for.

According to information reaching the Guyana Chronicle, Mazahar Ally was last seen late last week, but there was no sign of him all weekend, nor on Monday. It took a security guard who works at the gated community to use his initiative and run the log book, only to find that there was no record to show that Mazahar Ally either left or entered the premises.

Realising that something was not right, the guard next called the man’s house, but got no answer. And to compound matters, he was also getting a strange smell from the house, which is what prompted him to call the police at the Beterverwagting Police Station.

Police sources who visited the house where the incident took place explained that the man’s body was so badly decomposed, it was partly touching the stairs. Also, the back door was open, as was the door to the verandah, which was how a police rank was able to access the premises, with the aid of a ladder.

Persons in the area yesterday afternoon told this publication that Mazahar Ally was not in the habit of communicating with other persons from the gated community.

Ayube Mazahar Ally worked as a pilot at several of the domestic air service providers at the Ogle Airport, but mostly with Air Services Limited, the owners of which he is related to.
