[Antigua] No injuries in emergency helicopter landing
By Observer News
Friday, June 24th, 2011.

A small five-seater chopper owned and operated by Caribbean Helicopter made an emergency landing at the Crabbs Rifle Range around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon.

Reports from the Police Strategic Communications Unit (STRATCOM) are that the V2-LGO Bell Jet Ranger ll, piloted by Dominic Noon was on an island tour, which originated from Jolly Harbour.

According to the pilot, while in flight, he saw the Low Transmission Pressure light illuminate. As a result, he made contact with the VC Bird International Airport Control Tower and then made the emergency landing on the Rifle Range, which at the time had no training activities.

“There were no injures to the pilot or any of the three passengers on board,” the STRATCOM communiqué read.

“The passengers were interviewed; they were in good spirits and were of high praise of the pilot for his calmness and professionalism. The helicopter had no structural damage.”

Members of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force, the Royal Police Force and the Antigua Fire Services visited the scene very shortly thereafter.

Paul Delislle and other staff members of the Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority inspected the site.
